If money is a secondary concern and your looking for the best fire pit, look no further.
Just looking at images of this stunning propane fire pit do it little justice. The immaculate tempered glass top is made from thick, durable material that is weather, crack and heat resistant. You can be assured that once installed you’ll be enjoying a perfectly smooth surface for years to come. The Montego Crystal Fire Pit also comes with a tempered glass fire pit cover so you can quickly convert it into a full sized outdoor table in a matter of seconds. As with the main tabletop the fire pit cover is built to very high standards and matches perfectly with the rest of the table.
The majority of the table is covered in a tropical looking, yet durable wicker base that comes in either black or balsam brown colors. When up close to it, you’d think you had been transported to a luxury resort in Hawaii. The material and color choices also go very well with most outdoor furniture as they tend to have similar patterns and styles. This makes it very easy to incorporate the Outdoor Great Room propane fire pit into an existing patio setup. Not to mention that it is fairly quick to set up, you should be able to go from delivery to fully assembled in a little over an hour.
The center of the table is dominated by a massive 12″ x 42″ stainless steel burner pit that puts out a whopping 65,000 BTUs of heat. That is enough heat to keep you warm even deep into the northern fall. Due to the table design most of the heat will be directed to your head and chest so be sure to wear warm socks if you going out in a colder day. To keep adding to the list of awesome features, the Montego Crystal Fire Pit includes enough diamond fire glass to fill the entire fire bowl. This glass looks stunning with it’s crystalline colors and is amazing to see at night with the fire reflecting off the individual crystals.
Please note, the above glass wind guard is an additional accessory that does not ship with the propane fire pit. We would recommend strongly that you pick it up though as it really helps to make the table feel complete, plus it makes the fire a bit safer for curious children. The burner pit, being made of high quality stainless steel is extremely resistant to rust, corrosion, weathering effects and heat damage. If your in the market for something that will stand the test of time, this propane fire pit table is up to the task.
Installing the propane tank is very easy, simply open the side door, attach the gas line and slip the tank in. There is more than enough room for the tank to fit and along with the gas line and regulator, everything is nicely hidden away, giving the table a refined, finished look. There have been a few complaints about the door not fitting just right, as the hinges were misaligned. However we didn’t have that issue with ours and were easily able to close the door with no effort.
One of the great advantage to propane fire pit tables are that you can use them on wooden decks. Unlike wood burning options the bottom of the propane units do not heat up and are safe for all surfaces. However as with all high BTU propane fire pits, the hotter they burn, the faster your propane runs out. At maximum flame height you’ll get right around 8 hours of burn time for a single standard 20 lb. propane tank. If your planning multiple festivities in a row it might be worth it to grab a spare tank so you can quickly swap it out.
Height wise this table is perfect, we measured it at 23″ tall which is ideal for an evening glass of wine under the stars or a mid afternoon cat nap. The rounded edges of the tempered glass table top prevent any risk cutting yourself so you can put your feet up and enjoy a great evening.
Starting this propane fire pit is a breeze with the included piezo-electric starter and flame adjustment. A quick turn of a knob and a press of a button is all that is needed to get a roaring flame. Due to the massive size of of the burn pit, it can take a few minutes for the flames to fully spread across the fire glass, so don’t be discouraged if your fire is a bit small upon first turning it on.
One of the very few areas that this fire pit table could improve on would be to come standard with a cover. Many lower cost options provide this free of charge, although the quality of the covers can be hit or miss. Instead you’ll need to pick up the aptly named Outdoor Great Room Rectangular Vinyl Cover for Montego Crystal Fire Pit Table. This is a perfect fit for the table and covers all exposed areas. You should be aware though that the build quality of the vinyl cover is a bit below the table itself, so don’t expect it to last more than a season or two if you have rough winters before starting to see damage on the seams. If your in a milder climate you should expect it to have a longer lifespan.
Overall the Outdoor Great Room Montego Crystal Fire Pit is the peak of luxury and has an outstanding build quality. With it’s beautiful tempered glass table top, 65,000 BTU heat output and refined look, we would be hard pressed to find a better propane fire pit table short of having something custom designed for our patio.
