No one fancies raking leaves off the lawn all the time no matter how good the rake is. It’s a very tough job especially if you have a lot of trees on your property.
There are two ways to make the job easy for you; hire someone to help you take care of it or get a yard vacuum to deal with it. In our opinion, your best bet is using a yard vacuum since it’ll save you some money in the long run.
We reviewed five of the best yard vacuum machines here and shared our expert opinions about each of them.
#1. Best Yard Vacuum – BLACK+DECKER 3-in-1 Electric Leaf Blower/Vacuum
The first impression you’ll have when you set your eyes on this Black Decker outdoor tool is that it is a leaf blower.
Truth be told, it is indeed a leaf blower.
However, with the vacuum kit that comes with it, you can easily turn it into a yard vacuum or even use it as a mulcher.
It is compact sized, lightweight, and offers two-speed options with speeds reaching 250miles/hr. Additionally, it also comes with a disposable leaf bag system and can be used with a disposable bag.

Buying A Yard Vacuum: What We Considered
Before picking out these yard vacuum machines, we had a few things at the back of our mind and we shared them below.
First, it’s important to understand that there’s a difference between a leaf blower and a yard vacuum. According to their names, each differs in the work they do. However, with an appropriately designed blower, installing a vacuum kit can quickly convert it to a yard vacuum.
So let’s begin.
Handheld or Wheeled
There are two kinds of yard vacuums: the handheld and wheeled models. The handheld models are great for vacuuming small-sized properties whilst the wheeled models are good for larger properties.
You can easily get tired if you use the handheld model on a large property.
Size of your property

Yes. This is important but it is often overlooked because most homeowners have fairly sizeable outdoor space that can easily be vacuumed using a handheld vacuum.
For properties sitting on a larger outdoor space, a handheld vacuum can be tiring. In this case, you should opt for a wheeled yard vacuum.
Weight
For the handheld yard vacuums, weight should be considered given that they need to be carried for a reasonably long period. Fortunately, most of the units in the market are lightweight – the majority of them fall under the 10lbs weight cap.
Battery or Corded

Your choice.
With a corded yard vacuum, you’ll need a long cord length and of course to have long extension wires to your outdoor space.
You’ll save on battery and won’t worry about charging.
For the battery-powered models, you’ll need to deal with charging and getting spare batteries. We advise going for the corded models.
Easy to use
The yard vacuum you choose should be one that is easy to use and would require minimal effort to use it or to switch it between a vacuum and a blower. It should also be able to support a handful of accessories including being able to work with disposable bags.
Yard Vacuum Reviews
We examined yard vacuum blower combinations from notable brands like Greenworks, Black+Decker, and Worx, to mention a few. Here’s what we think about them.

The Black+Decker yard vacuum is a combination of three outdoor tools in one. It is a blower, a yard vacuum, and a mulcher. It does each of the aforementioned tasks perfectly although a stand-alone leaf mulcher does better than it. This is expected, no doubt.
It is electrically powered and has a 12amp motor with a blower airspeed of up to 250mph and 2-speed options to choose from. With respect to weight, it’s lightweight – at 8.1lbs, it’s definitely worth the title.
Black+Dectker includes a lot of accessories to help you switch between a blower and vacuum with ease. Additionally, this vacuum comes with tons of extras in the bag to get you vacuuming your property immediately.
There’s a reusable collection bag, a blow tube, diffuser, shoulder strap for carrying, a vacuum tube, etc. in the packaging. Its sound is not the loudest especially when you compare it to sounds from chipper shredders we recently reviewed.

AirSpeed: 70mph
Features: 3-in-1 function, one-touch conversion to blower and vacuum, single-handed operation, two-speed options, lightweight, durable Worx debris collection bag.
The Worx WG512 vacuum is in no wise different from the blower vacuums we’ve reviewed so far. However, it’s lacking a bit in some capacities – we’ll get to that in a bit.
Weighing about 11.8lbs, it’s undeniably lightweight. It has a 3-in-1 function and so can work as a blower, mulcher, and yard vacuum. Switching modes is as easy as ABC since you only need to flip a button to get started.
The WORX WG512 Trivac 2.0 Electric Vacuum comes with a quality Worx debris bag and a 12 amp electrically powered motor. It offers between 70mph and 200mph airspeed – in all honesty, it’s lacking in that capacity considering the fact that some of its counterparts have better airspeed.
